Pheonix Reborn

For anyone watching the news there has been alot of speculation Re: the return of Live Events across New Eden. Weither it’s the Jove Empire returning, Sancha’s nation acting solo, or Sleepers Finally awakening and *cough* appropriating bodies, there are hard yet exciting times ahead.

I like to think of myself as a trusting person, and generally try to do anything i can to help people out. Which works out well for me in Relationships consistently, in Friendships the majority of the time, and with Colleagues occasionally.

So with this frame of mind I originally entered the world of EvE, “Hey we’re all here to have fun”.

Was approached to join a corp straight out of Republic University, and spent my first few months with Internet Guardians learning from my CEO who knew his way around the Universe. I was a natural miner, what with my Fluffy nature combined with my social side, requiring the entire client to consist of chat windows, and cargo holds. After some time i took it upon myself to work as a Mining Coordinator. Generally I always had a mining fleet going as it was, and usually we donated a % to the corp coffers.

This is when problems started to arise…

At the time I had no intention of entering Lowsec or O.O space, and my one mining tenet was and always will be “Things should be fun first, and serious second”. As many people always repeat, who wants a second job.

In my experience if an op is Efficient and Fun then it is not only a success, but also an incentive to members to return. I have always held to my policy of Equal % for every attendee, regardless of ship-type/experience/role.

Unfortunately my CEO disagreed with this, and wanted total rigid discipline to be the main priority of the fleet. We were expected to act as if every Op was taking place in hostile O.O, even if held in 1.0 space. Which is his right to insist on.

But he chose mid-Op to not only shout over Voice-coms, but also to contradict my orders in Fleet chat. Given that this was an unplanned unofficial operation entirely organised by me, and the manner in which it was done… Lets say it Peeved me.

Not long after this i decided that rigid corporations were not for me. I’ve always disliked starter/NPC corps, so i decided to found a Corporation solely for myself and my alts. Eventually some corpmates joined me, and we picked up members occasionally.

After quite a while I was running a DED in my Shiny new Dramiel, with a friend in a Hound(pre-nerf) watching my back. Had a request from a newish member Blissful Glow to come try it with us.

After running it a few times to get her/him used to it, Hound went afk and cloaked up. I had full agro (and was doing ok) when my tank started collapsing fast, and soon made a pretty little explosion of it’s own. Suddenly i got a ROFL from Bliss, and a notice stating QUOTE “You have been assassinated in conjunction with my orders, and all accessible assets/isk has already been removed from your corp” UNQUOTE

First mistake, but not the last… Turned out to have been about 40mil worth of mods from corp main hanger tab, and an Indy ship or 2. Also about 100mil that all members had access to. Not crippling, but pretty irritating. About a month later I was looking for an adventure and was invited back to my previous corp.

My second mistake was not leaving an alt to hold the corp name…

I’ll skip my repeat experience with Internet Guardians, our Emigration to Amarr space, decimation of my Minny standings, and my O.O experiences for the moment…

I moved onto a Corporation i had been friends with since early in my EvE life, who shared my taste for reasonably unstructured corporations, and generally try to enjoy every moment as much as i do.

Several months later we were Wardecced by Pheonix Reborn Industrial, run by one Blissful Glow, and set up with the mission statement of ruining my life, and generally griefing me. Was specifically recruiting people to help destroy me.

Never actually showed up except for angry convos, mails etc. Did however attack my ex-CEO IGuardian in his O.O space and had his/her ass royally handed to them by Paxton Federation and allies. \o/ Shortly after, abandoned that char forever taking my corp name with it.

Aaaaanyway, I’m just trying to explain my mindset with regard to future posts. I tend to ramble on alot to make an eventual point, and my opinions change somewhat frequently.

I have always been a miner, but can no longer stand the sight of Roids. Can currently be seen prowling DEDs, scanned sites, Wh’s, and the occasional Lowsec roam. MY main problems are a lack of patience, or set goals.

Hi there…

To be perfectly honest I originally started this blog as a means to open recruitment and renown for my Corporation Pheonix Reborn Industrial.

Soon after, which due to some developments I’ll touch on later, I closed the Corp and took a brief hiatus from the wonder that is EvE.

Recently I’ve been thinking of some way to use the blog that makes it not only fun to read, but also actually useful in some way.

This I found out to be quite hard considering the amazing EvE related blogs that currently exist. I have thus decided that I’m going to just spurge my own opinions, ideas, and reactions and maybe someone somewhere might find it interesting.
